Evonik was already a well organized and digitally savvy manufacturer before coming to Agilis. They are a thought leader in their space and have a great digital roadmap.
The challenge for Evonik was how to tap into the large growing, fragmented, but sizeable, Indie Beauty market - specifically in the United States. Their aim is to be in direct contact with Indie Beauty brands. However, because these brands are smaller than Evonik’s normal buyers and buy in smaller quantities (batches), their current fulfillment and business model could not support these brands. Managing the order management process alone would have put them at a monetary loss.
Evonik Care Solutions saw the opportunity to reach and sell into a new market - the Indie Beauty Brands - if they are able to create a way for these brands to buy Evonik products in smaller batches.
Agilis provided Evonik with a cost effective and fully automated way to directly engage with Indie Beauty brands by creating a portal (visit portal)to order their products directly from Evonik.
Evonik began engaging with a fulfillment partner to break out their products into smaller packaging units and partnered with Agilis to streamline product data transfer to make the ordering and fulfillment process frictionless for their Indie Beauty customers.
The portal is extremely customized, built for Indie Beauty brands, and launched with a select group of products in Evonik’s portfolio that was suitable for this product segment. The portal also gives Evonik the ability to accept and process credit card payments for these orders as well as the opportunity to focus and serve the North American market.
The success of the joint effort between Agilis Commerce and Evonik will be measured by the transaction volume made through the portal.
