Job Description:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive aggressive sales growth by identifying, developing, and closing enterprise-level opportunities within the chemical industry. This role demands a consultative selling approach to match customer needs with Agilis' innovative solutions. The position is remote, based in major U.S. cities such as New York, Houston, Chicago, or Atlanta.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the sales process from discovery to negotiation and own acquired customers throughout their lifecycle for expansion opportunities. Discover customer needs and provide live software demonstrations as proof points to decision-makers in customer organizations.

  • Achieve ambitious sales targets through strategic prospecting, relationship building, and solution-driven selling to large enterprise customers.
  • Develop deep expertise in Agilis' platform, products, and value propositions for customers.
  • Conduct compelling web demonstrations of Agilis’ software for prospective clients.
  • Analyze customer needs and software ecosystems to create tailored proposals for various stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to win complex enterprise deals.
  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships, ensuring customer success and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to relay customer feedback and stay updated on product developments.
  • Monitor industry trends and maintain a strong understanding of competitors’ offerings.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM practices with accurate account plans and sales forecasts.

Requirements:

Proven sales experience in the chemicals / software industry with demonstrated ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment. Digitally savvy with strong presentation, communication and time management skills. Demonstrated high learning agility, adaptable, flexible, and a strong team player. Ability to use all Google products (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar), Dropbox, Slack, Hubspot, and other collaboration tools. Ability to write professional emails to clients and third parties.

  • 5+ years of proven enterprise software sales experience, ideally serving the chemical or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Track record in selling complex software solutions with multi-phase implementations.
  • Experience engaging with both business/commercial and IT stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a consultative sales mindset.

Required Education:
